Creepiest Television Commercials of All Time
When I was little, I watched a lot of television commercials, or TV in general for that matter. The commercials from my youth invade my psyche to this day, appearing in my dreams and even fantasies on a regular basis. This is now compounded by my fascination with contemporary advertising. Over the years I have mentally archived many remarkable commercials. My brain, bloated and top-heavy, impregnated with peculiar media, has finally gone in to labor. Whoosh… a torrent of amniotic fluid pours from my nose and tear ducts as lil’ baby ads squeeze out of my ear. Oh wow, it is a litter of yipping, yapping creepy television commercials. Awwww look at ‘em play…
Mmmm Kinder Eggs! It’s like a Cracker Jack and a Cadbury Egg made babies… And this commercial is what happens when Humpty Dumpty and Garbage Pail Kids mate.
More Creepy Television Commercials after the break!
McDonald’s
McDonald’s adverts are AWESOME OK?? This is one of the creepiest. There were actually many commercials featuring Mac Tonight. The were pushing McDonald’s new (at the time) late night hours. All creepy. I decided to post classic Mac Tonight, the first, and most catchy. Side note: The actor that played Mac Tonight, Doug Jones, has some sort of weird memorial site dedicated to the character.. Check it!
Energizer
Duracell batteries had some wacky videos in the past. They try and try, but cannot seem to find their Energizer Bunny. A valiant effort here. The Puttermans are creepy.
Orville Redenbacher
Orville Redenbacher is spinning in his grave on a glass microwave plate. This doesn’t even look good. It is just creepy.
McDonald’s Again
McDonald’s again. This ‘un is a Japanese Seizure educing freak out.
?? Potato Chips
Is there really this much of a cultural void, or is this whole commercial a bad idea?
Snuggle Fabric Softener
Nothing in the world could get me to follow that creepy Teddy Ruxpin wannabe, dryer sheet littering, possessed bear in to his box of all encompassing light.
Six Flags
By all means. Encourage our children to go for a ride in a big van with flamboyant, dancing old men that come bearing promises of fun and amusement parks.
Toys R Us
It was pitches as “every child’s dream” but looks more like “every child’s worst nightmare”. Creepy.
Campbell’s
For some reason, this actually does make me want to eat soup.
